Winter is Coming!
It’s that time of the year again, and it’s best to be proactive with our vehicles than to pay the price later. Here are Top Gear we want to make sure that you’re family is safe and that your car can be reliable all winter long. Here are some tips for the coming winter.
-Use an additive for your diesel fuel
-Change your diesel fuel filter
-Lubricate all of your hinges
-Apply a little bit of vaseline to all of your car door seals to prevent them from freezing shut
-Check all of your fluid levels before it’s too cold to stand outside ;)
-Make sure your coolant is mixed at the right concentration that it will not freeze. (If you ever added just water throughout the year, you may need to add some unmixed coolant - come see us if you’re not sure)
-Don’t let your fuel reach below a quarter full. This is handy just in case you are delayed somewhere and to help prevent freezing
-Change your tires to Winter Tires for extra grip and stopping power. This is a must for any Canadian vehicle.
-Replace your wipers and keep extra washer fluid in your car
Never hesitate to call us or stop by if you have any questions or would like our help in getting your car winter ready.
